Overcoming our Negativity Bias
As humans we have a natural hyper-sensitivity to the negative. Wikipedia defines this Negativity Bias, in part, in the following citation:

If you are like me, there are a whole lot of things around you that you would love to see get fixed. I have a seemingly endless list of projects in and around the house of things that need fixing: the lawn that won't stay green and weed free, the car that can't keep its coolant inside the motor, the garage door that won't quite . . .
